Flatiron Building
The Flatiron Building was designed by Daniel Burnham and completed in 1902. The 22 -storey building is constructed of a steel skeleton with a limestone and glazed terracotta facade and is 87m tall. The form of the building has been dictated by the triangular shaped site where 5th Avenue and Broadway meet.
'I found myself agape, admiring a skyscraper — the prow of the Flatiron Building, to be particular, ploughing up through the traffic of Broadway and Fifth Avenue in the late-afternoon light. – H.G. Wells (1906)' (source:wikipedia)
